Service Description

Sapling sessions are our Pre-school Forest School Playgroup for all children 0-5 years, carers and their siblings if they are lucky enough for an inset day! We have strived to create an inclusive community where Dads, Grandads, Grandmas, Mothers, Foster carers, Aunties or Family friends can bring the lucky child in their life along and feel welcomed and supported in the woodland. The session is set up as activities and experiences set up around the woodland. Children are encouraged to explore and play with what inspires them! For consistency we keep some stations the same week in and out - the sand/mud pit, a playdough activity, the mud kitchen and the swings. Other stations we base on the interests of the children and what they have engaged with in previous sessions, seasonal activities or themed around popular books and stories. At the end of the session we always have time to reflect and come together and toast marshmallows together as a group. We run sessions on Mondays and Fridays, throughout the year and in all kinds of weather, except high winds and torrential rain! During the winter months our campfire is lit to keep you toasty and warm. Please dress yourself and your children in plenty of layers during the winter as you will be outside for the duration of the session!😁 We are situated in a private woodland on Park Lane, Kippax. LS25 7AP. The main paths are easily accessible with prams should these be necessary, we also have toilets on site. ⭐We ask siblings that are tottering about and using resources to start paying so roughly from 9/10 months. Under 9 months are free when accompanying a full paying sibling. ⭐ We do a childminder rate for childminders bringing 3 or more children - please contact us for more details! ⭐ If you have any further questions, or are having issues booking your spot, have complex/additional needs, or not sure whether it is appropriate for your child then please contact us! ⭐ Allergy/Dietary info: Please be aware that we usually have playdough out and various natural (usually seasonal) resources in our activities. Also, the nature of a natural setting such as ours, with plants, animals and trees (including hazel nut trees) makes it is impossible to be allergen free.
